The associates of Life Care Center of Orlando, Florida, donated 535 pounds of food to Servant’s Heart Center in April 2016.
“The inspiration was that we wanted to do something for our local community,” said Shari Tiberi, executive director.
This was the first time the facility has worked with Servant’s Heart Center or held any kind of food drive. Items that were donated included canned foods, cereal and pasta. Tiberi shared that the donated food would be enough to provide 4,280 meals.
“Since our motto is Whatever It Takes And Then Some, and knowing there are people within a few miles of where I work who go hungry every night, I wanted to be able to extend our motto,” said Jane LeVeck, social service director. “Being able to help the community around us makes it that much more of an awesome place to work.”
